NUTRIENT cycle
The oxygen cycle
Almost all living things need oxygen. They use this oxygen during the process of creating energy in living cells. Just as water moves from the sky to the earth and back in the hydrologic cycle, oxygen is also cycled through the environment. Plants mark the beginning of the oxygen cycle. Plants are able to use the energy of sunlight to convert carbon dioxide and water into carbohydrates and oxygen in a process called photosynthesis.
This means that plants "breathe" in carbon dioxide and "breathe" out oxygen.
Animals form the other half of the oxygen cycle. We breathe in oxygen which we use to break carbohydrates down into energy in a process called respiration.
Carbon dioxide produced during respiration is breathed out by animals into the air.

Oxygen cycle facts
Oxygen is created and used in different ways. It is in your connected with the carbon cycle because carbon and oxygen are often combined together in molecules. The oxygen cycle basically consists of animals who inhale oxygen from the atmosphere and plants that "exhale" oxygen in the atmosphere
Facts:
Oxygen cycle from plants to animals and back to plants.
Respiration is the process by which animals breathe in oxygen.
When dead animals decompose oxygen is used in the process.
Process of resting is also called oxidization. It happens when oxygen combines with metal.
Without oxygen there would be no fire.
The majority of oxygen in the atmosphere is created by plants through photosynthesis.
Sometimes atmospheric oxygen is created when the sunlight reacts with water vapor.
21% of the atmosphere is made of oxygen.
The less green we have the less oxygen we have.
When humans and other animals inhale oxygen, it combines with carbon from the food we eat. It is then exhaled as carbon dioxide.
Oxygen is also stored in minerals within the earths surface and is unavailable for humans.
